BIOGRAPHY
Stacey
Earle and Mark Stuart have been playing music ever since
the first night they met, at a Nashville songwriters’
night that Stacey was hosting in 1992. In 2003, they put
out their first record together. Entitled Never Gonna
Let You Go, it was a testimony to exactly what they had
planned – to record and play together as an official
duo from then on out. We are proud to be releasing COMMUNION
BREAD, the duo’s second studio album.
After playing and writing songs for many years and then
honing her skills as a songwriter working for Ten Ten
Music Group in Nashville for three years on top of that,
Stacey has an extensive catalog of original tunes. She
busted out of the shadow of her older brother and fellow
musician Steve in 1998 with the release of her critically
noted debut, Dancin’ With Them That Brung Me. Mark,
a Nashville native and long-time musician and songwriter
himself, put out his own record, Songs From a Corner Stage,
in 1999. Road warriors in the true sense of the word,
the duo has logged 250 dates a year touring in the past,
and have no plans of letting up. In 2001 they recorded
a double live cd with the intention of selling it at their
gigs, but their fans “broke our arm” and insisted
it get out there into the stores so it would be more widely
available to buy.
Stacey grew up in a musical family, but her her first
professional recording wasn’t until she was in her
late 20s, when she sang on her brother Steve Earle’s
record, The Hard Way. Since then both she and Mark have
toured with Steve – Stacey singing and Mark playing
guitar in the Dukes. Mark toured with Freddy Fender when
he was in his teens; Stacey had another huge career thrill
when she toured with Joan Baez.
